Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) organized and held an experience sharing session about how to apply National Social Science Fund (NSSFC) projects, in order to promote NSSFC project application work in 2019 on campus. SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang attended the meeting with other key leaders, with the Director of Office of Research Zhao Yusheng presiding over the meeting.
Li Fengliang affirmed the achievements made in scientific study of the humanities, and emphasized that NSSFC projects indicate the core competitiveness of the university’s scientific research. Applying for NSSFC projects are very important for the development of world-class research universities as well as the academic development of teachers. He put forward requirements for NSSFC project applications at SUSTech to ensure the standardization of the process.
Executive Director of the Institute of Cultural Industry of Shenzhen University Zhou Jianxin shared his experience. Zhou Jianxin described the various aspects of the application by combining his experience in applying for and reviewing NSSFC projects. He pointed out that compared with the NSFC; the NSSFC has to go through many layers of screening, resulting in a lower success rate. Therefore, when filling in the declaration form, teachers should make sure the ideas are novel, the arguments are perfect and the formatting isflawless. He encouraged young teachers to try bravely, make their own breakthroughs and apply actively for this year's projects.
After the session teachers further understood the methods and procedures of applying for NSSFC projecst, and improved their enthusiasm for the application process.
