The Global Engagement Office (GEO) is responsible for forming and implementing a coherent strategy to promote the University’s international development and global profile.

The undergraduate admission of SUSTech adopts comprehensive evaluation enrollment mode based on national college entrance examination.The graduate admission of SUSTech currently adopts joint training mode.

The main duties of SUSTCEF is to accept the donations from the domestic and foreign associations, enterprises, trading companies and individuals, and establish the funding projects depending on the demands of the university and the wishes of the donors.

GUO Yurong

GUO Yurong received her Master Degree in Physical Geography from Sun Yat-Sen University. From 1994 to 1997, Guo participated in a government-funded international training program in Canada, Australia and the United States. From 1988 to 2016, Guo served in an array of key positions in the government of Shenzhen Municipality, including Director of Education Bureau and Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau.

In June, 2016, Guo Yurong was appointed Chairwoman of University Council of the Southern University of Science and Technology.

Professor CHEN Shiyi studied mechanics and received his first degree in 1981 from Zhejiang University, followed by a MSc degree and a PhD degree from Peking University in 1984 and 1987.

From 1987 to 1994, he was post-doctoral fellow, Oppenheimer Fellow, research staff and group leader at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA. Prof. Chen joined John Hopkins University in 2001, and was promoted to the Alonzo G. Decker Jr. Chair in Engineering and Science in 2005. From 2011 to 2015, Prof. Chen was Dean of Graduate School of Peking University and then Vice President for Research.

In January, 2015, he took office as​ the President of the Southern University of Science and Technology.

Li Fengliang holds a PhD degree in literature from Jinan University. He is also a post doctor from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) and a visiting scholar from the University of Southern California, a national candidate for the "National Talent Program".

From 1994-1998, he worked on teaching, research and management at Jiangsu Normal University, Jinan University and SYSU successively. In 2008, he was transferred to Shenzhen University as Vice President and Party Committee Member, and worked concurrently as Dean of the College of Entrepreneurship, Dean of the Institute for Cultural Industries, Director of the National Center for Cultural Innovation Research and Chief Editor of Journal of Shenzhen University (Humanities & Social Sciences).

He was appointed as Vice Chairperson of University Council of Southern University of Science and Technology in October 2016.

 
TANG Tao

Professor TANG Tao  received his BSc in Mathematics from Peking University in 1984 and received a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics in 1989. 

From 1990 to 1998, he was a faculty member of Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University and was granted tenure in 1996. He joined Hong Kong Baptist University in 1998, and was promoted to Chair Professor in 2003.

He was awarded the Leslie Fox Prize for numerical analysis in 1988 and the Feng Kang Prize for scientific computing in 2003. From 2005 to 2009, he was Cheung Kong Chair Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, and in 2012, he was elected as a SIAM Fellow for his "contributions to computational fluid dynamics and in particular, development of adaptive algorithms".

While at Hong Kong Baptist University, Prof. Tang was the Head of the Department of Mathematics , Director of Graduate School of the university, Associate Vice-President and Dean of Science. 

He was appointed Vice President for Research by SUSTech in May 2015.

 
 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 
LU Chun

Vice President

Dr. Lu Chun received his BA in mechanics from Peking University in 1984, MA from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 1987 and PhD from the National University of Singapore in 1991. He worked as a Senior/Principal Engineer in the Chartered Industry Singapore from 1994 to 1997, and then joined the Institute of High Performance Computing in 1997, where he worked as a Senior Research Scientist and Program Director of the Division of Large-scale Complex Systems. Dr. Lu was adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. He joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in 2008, as Director of East Asia Strategic Initiatives, and later Director of International Programs.

Since 2015, Dr. Lu serves as the member of the University's Administrative Meeting, Chief Operating Officer, and the Chair Professor at Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering Department of SUSTech. Since April 2018 he has served as the Vice President of SUSTech.

 

TENG Jinguang

Vice President
Dean, Graduate School


 

Professor Teng received his BEng degree from Zhejiang University in 1983 and his PhD degree from the University of Sydney in 1990. Prior to his current positions at SUSTech, he had held full time positons at James Cook University in Australia (1991-1994) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU; 1994-2018). He is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences and a Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Professor Teng has conducted extensive research on structural engineering. He has authored/co-authored over 200 SCI journal papers, leading to over 9,000 citations and an H-index of 49 according to the Web of Science Core Collection. His research contributions have been recognized by many awards and prizes, including the IIFC Medal from the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC), the State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Howard Medal from UK’s Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Harting Award from the Society for Experimental Mechanics.

 
YE Qin  

Chief Financial Officer


In March, 2011, Mr. Ye Qin was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Preparation Office of SUSTech. He was appointed as Chief Financial Officer as well as the Director of Finance Office of SUSTech in June 2015.

Mr. Ye received his master’s degree in microbiology from Beijing Agricultural University in 1986. He served successively as teaching assistant, Deputy Director and Lecturer of the microbiology teaching and research office of Northwest Agricultural University from 1986 to 1994. From 1994 to 2007, Mr. Ye successively served in different positions at governmental institutions of Shenzhen Municipality, including Director of the Department of Social Development and the Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality. Since April 2017, he serves as chief accountant for SUSTech.

 
HAN Wei 

Director of Residential College


Dr. Han Wei has a PhD in Education. She worked successively at the Shenzhen Bureau of Education and Shenzhen University from 1992 to 2007.

In June 2007, Dr. Han participated in the preparations of SUSTech and was appointed as the leader of the Preparation Group Office of SUSTech. She was then promoted to Deputy Director in August 2010, and took office as Director of Human Resource in January 2015, in charge of the Human Resource Office, Students Affairs Office, Residential Colleges and UNESCO Category 2 Institutes and Centers Preparation Office. Since April 2017, she serves as director of the College for SUSTech.

CHEN Siqi

In March, 2016, Mr. Chen Siqi was appointed as the Director of the Finance Office of SUSTech. He was selected as a member of the University Council and a member of SUSTech’s CPC Committee in March 2017.

Mr. Chen received his Bachelor‘s degree in Economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics in 2003. He served on different positions at Shenzhen Municipal Finance Committee, including Deputy Director of Budget Office and a member of CPC’s Shenzhen Municipal Finance Committee.

Since March 2018, he has served as Secretary General as well as the Director of University & Party Affairs Office of SUSTech.
