The interdisciplinary research centers are the main part in constructing academic disciplines and are an important platform for high-level fundamental research, as well as basic research for applications. The interdisciplinary research centers are equipped with advanced scientific research equipment to concentrate and cultivate science talents, hold Chinese and overseas high-level academic exchanges and output high-level scientific results.
The research centers and laboratories are the supporting institutions for the university’s scientific research and at the core of its academic system. Since its foundation, SUSTech has always considered the construction of research centers and laboratories as essential.
At the same time, SUSTech is actively promoting the construction of a scientific base. At present, SUSTech has completed three research centers and one public laboratory, as well as the university’s center for forecasting and analysis. Approval has been obtained for four provincial key engineering laboratories.
In the next five years, the university will further accelerate construction of university-level public scientific research platforms and professional laboratories to build an open and intensive scientific research base.
