The SUSTech Education Foundation consists of board of directors, board of supervisors and secretariat. The board of directors is the top of the power structure of the foundation; the board of supervisors is responsible to check finance and accounting information in accordance with law and regulations; secretariat is the standing administrative unit of the foundation, which is responsible to the daily work of the foundation under the leading of leaders in the board of directors.

The setup of departments and subject majors follows the frontier of subject development, orients the national strategic development of emerging industries, focuses on the development of new specialties and interdisciplines relevant to the new energy, new material, new generation information technology, energy conservation and environment protection, biotechnology, biological medicine and so on. The Department of Chemistry is therefore strategically developed as one of the largest and best equipped departments in the University. Thanks to the strong support from both the Government and our founders, this department aims to be one of the best in China and has already attracted many outstanding experts to join, including 2 honored with the prestigious Thousand Talents Program Award and 8 recipients of Thousand Young Talents Program Award from the Chinese Central Government.
The department of biology of South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC)was founded in 2012. At present, an internationalized high-level teaching body has been established preliminarily, in which four professors have acquired the positions of lifetime professors in America and Canada, most of other professors, associate professors and assistant professors graduated from the international first-class universities, acquired the doctoral degrees, and engaged in the post-doctoral research in overseas universities or research institutions, or have obtained the teaching posts in the international first-class universities.
Department of Mathematics was newly founded in 2015 and it plays an important role in SUSTC, the academic programs at which focus on sciences and engineering, providing mathematical support to other departments, training high-quality innovative talents with good mathematical knowledge.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is a high technology discipline founded on the basis of microelectronics engineering. It has evolved our daily life in many aspects and will continue to shape our information-based society. The research and teaching at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering presently encompasses the cutting-edge and interdisciplinary technologies including microelectronics, photonics, and communications.
Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) is a multidisciplinary subject highly related to physics, chemistry and engineering. MSE systematically studies a variety of materials and emphasizes on the relationships between processing, structure, property, and performance. In modern society, MSE has become an important part for economic development, national defense, and our daily lives.
Our department aims to become a leading institution in both local China and the world for Finance education and research.
China’s well-documented environmental problems are major roadblocks to the healthy and sustainable development of the country. Protection and improvement of China’s environmental quality has reached a tipping point that can no longer be ignored. In this background, SUSTC, in response to the significant strategic needs of our nation, established the School of Environmental Science and Engineering (hereafter referred to as “School”) to advance scientific understanding and develop engineering approaches that will contribute to environmental protection.
